“Maariv 3 for electric guitar, 18 years into the present” composed for solo dance in Rita McBride’s National Chain

I’m composing a re-interpretation of my 2008 piece ‘Maariv 3 for electric guitar’ with explorations of tape speed, pitch, harmonics, timbre, and a new layer of electric guitar tones that can be performed live.

An edit of the new composed re-interpretation “Maariv 3 for electric guitar, 18 years into the present” will accompany intermittent solo dance interventions by Lavinia Findikoglu inside of Rita McBride’s National Chain installation, currently on view at MVG/Social Practice in Lompoc, California. Also in the exhibition is a large new painting by Glen Rubsamen, mounted on the outdoor side of the gallery.
